Publiship is going green….

The logistics industry is responsible for 3% of global emissions and here at Publiship we are acutely aware of the importance our clients place upon reducing the impact of their shipments. Many positive steps have been taken by the industry to reduce emissions, such as new ships being powered by bio-fuels and Liquid Nitrogen Gas, and strict requirements are in place to minimise sulphur and carbon emissions. It’s vital that our clients are able to monitor their Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and we have a range of tools available to assist. All prices quoted through our Pricer program now show the estimated GHG emissions for shipment of that title from the printer to the selected delivery point.

Reporting

We can provide periodic reporting of your GHG emissions, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis, according to your requirements. Reports can be summarised by origin and destination, and shown to individual title level if required. GHG Emissions are calculated by either Tank-to-Wheel (TTW) or Wheel-to-Wheel (WTW) measurements. TTW covers the emissions used purely by the various modes of transport involved in the through journey, whereas WTW allows from the movement of the fuel from source to the point of delivery to the vehicle. Our values are based on the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) framework, which is compatible with EU standard EN16258, and provides the basic principles for calculation.
